Sales Associate

The Sales Associate serves as the primary contact for customers, responsible for helping them find and buy products. Their tasks include handling the cash register, restocking items, organizing merchandise, keeping the store clean, and carrying out additional duties assigned by the Store Manager to boost store profitability and ensure customer satisfaction while safeguarding company assets.

Primary Duties:

• Deliver outstanding customer service by welcoming and assisting customers.
• Understand and monitor optimal inventory levels, restocking products when needed and where available.
• Operate the cash register and scanner to itemize and total purchases, process payments, provide change, bag items, and offer help with merchandise as needed.
• Adhere to company procedures for handling merchandise, including unpacking, stocking, restocking, rotating items on shelves, and creating merchandise displays.
• Maintain store cleanliness by taking out trash, dusting, mopping floors, cleaning restrooms and the receiving area, and setting up sidewalk displays.
• Process customer payments and issue receipts using cash registers, maintaining service standards and following all privacy regulations.

Qualifications:

• Strong interpersonal and verbal communication skills.
• Familiarity with safety policies and procedures.

• Understanding of basic cash handling processes.
• Proficiency in basic math. Ability to operate a cash register.
• Competence in stocking merchandise.
